App support
PlatePace keeps app records available on the device and uses its secure service for account, subscription, quota, and requested AI operations. If something looks wrong, try these first:
- Update to the latest version of PlatePace from the App Store.
- Force-close and reopen the app.
- Check that the device has internet access before using AI scanning, restoring purchases, or refreshing subscription status.
- Do not sign out or delete the app as a troubleshooting step unless support asks you to; first email us so we can help preserve your records.
Subscriptions: restore and manage
Paid plans are billed by the store where you purchased, not by PlatePace directly.
- Restore purchases: open Profile › Subscribe and tap Restore Purchases. This asks Apple to restore eligible purchases for the signed-in App Store account.
- Manage or cancel (iPhone / iPad): open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or use Apple's subscription management page. Changes and cancellations are handled by Apple.
- Free trials and renewals follow the plan you chose in the store. PlatePace cannot issue refunds for store-billed purchases.
AI food scan troubleshooting
PlatePace estimates food from a photo. Results are suggestions you should review and correct before saving.
- Use natural, even lighting and a clear, top-down view of the food.
- Avoid blur, heavy shadows, and items stacked so they hide each other.
- Narrow or missing results? Tap to correct the food, portion, or ingredients — corrections improve future recognition.
- Nutrition Facts labels, restaurant menus, and recipe photos are read on-device first (OCR); if useful text is found, only the text is sent for processing and the photo stays on your device.
- Scans are limited by your plan. If you hit a limit, the app shows your remaining quota and the plan that fits your usage.
Account and data deletion
You control your data:
- Delete records: remove individual logs and entries in the app where the feature is available.
- Delete your account and associated server data: open Profile › Account › Delete account and confirm. If you cannot access the app, email billy.yu@me.com from the address on the account.
- Locally stored data on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Medical boundary
PlatePace is not a medical device. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or recommend dose changes. Side-effect and medication logs are your own records for discussion with a clinician. For medical questions, severe symptoms, or medication decisions, contact a licensed clinician.
